How we try to position the studio
Fun Whenever Possible – Whenever possible, things should be fun.
While some things in games can be less fun (like losing a match), we will strive to make sure the games reflect a fun fair experience.
We also consider Fun important in our work, and Gutpunch was founded with the understanding our design process was to be fun whenever possible. We want to have fun working with our artists and partners, and ensure they have a fun, rewarding expierence working for us.
Elevate Artists – Games should be a platform to tell our stories, as well as showcase the art, music and talents of those in our community. Work to provide platforms that can widen the places their art can go.
Games should be Accessible to Everyone – Our games will make every effort to be Accessible to everyone, and we will continually evolve in ways we can provide accessibility in our games and to the community. We welcome input in ways in which we can make our games more accessible.
Player Forward Gaming – Games will be made with our players in mind. We value your attention, and will be respectful of your time and your wallet in the decisions we make around and in our games.
Use Knobs and Levers – When designing our games, use customizability as a forefront of our design decisions. Make game variables adjustable from the front end whenever possible to help find the fun!
Surprise and Delight – Subvert and exceed our player expectations, be responsive to our community and balance fun and stories that can make your eyes water with laughter, or feel like a punch in the gut.
